The series starts off with Chibiusa having a dream about a Pegasus who asks her not to tell anyone of their accounter. The next day there is a solar eclipse. During the eclipse, the Dead Moon Circus arrives unnoticed by everyone except Usagi, but she soon forgets about it as she notices that she is the only one who has seen it. Inside of the circus an old creature named Zirconia (with her flying eyeball, Zircon) summons the Amazon Trio. She tells them that they need to find Pegasus and that he has to be hiding inside of someone’s beautiful dream because he cannot survive for long on Earth. Then you are introduced to the Trio. The Trio attacks its victims by saying “One! Two! Three!” On one, a table appears, on two the victim is chained against the table and on three the dream mirror pops out. In the first episode, Pegasus appeared when Chibimoon was praying for help and he powered both Chibimoon and Sailormoon into Super senshi. They each got a new attack. Chibimoon got the Crystal Carillion which she uses in her 'attack'. She prays, "Please Pegasus! Protect everyone's dreams! Twinkle Yell!!" (cute cute cute) and Pegasus appears and activates Sailormoon's Moon Kaleid Scope. And Sailormoon does her Moon Gorgeous Meditation and destroys the monster but the Amazon Trio always escape. Tiger’s Eye is the one with the orange hair. He only attacks beautiful women and he is very conceited. He thinks that all women should pay attention to him because of the way he looks and he is known to get upset if someone happens to ignore him. His weapon of choice is a bullwhip. Hawk’s Eye is the one with the pink hair. He prefers to go after older women (like Usagi’s mother!!). He is probably the smartest of the three and he attacks with fire. And last but not least is Fish Eye. To put it simply, Fish Eye is weird. He has even been called a “blue freak” by Hawk’s Eye. His preferred targets are men and it is not unusual to see Fish Eye dressed as a girl. Fish Eye has a serious problem with cats and that is because he smells like a fish (because he used to be a fish) he even has scales on his green hands! His weapons of choice are knives. The Sailor Senshi are attacked one by one. Tiger’s Eye attacked Minako, Rei and Ami. Hawk’s Eye attacked Minako (along with Tiger’s Eye). And Fish Eye attacked Makoto. Usagi happened to be attacked by a clown…but none of them are hiding the Pegasus in their dreams. Anyway, Tiger’s Eye was the first of the Trio to wonder what he was missing without friends and eventually the Trio is threatened of being turned back into their original forms, a tiger, a hawk, and a fish because of their constant failures. Fish Eye manages to put together that Usagi is in fact Sailormoon and he also finds out that Chibiusa is the Pegasus’ host. But instead of turning them over to the Dead Moon Circus, he faces up to Zirconia and tells her that he didn’t think that they should attack people with beautiful dreams anymore. Zirconia tries to kill Fish Eye but Tiger’s Eye helps him out. So Zirconia turns to Zircon and the eyeball gives her a picture of Usagi. Zirconia puts Hawk’s Eye in charge of finding the Pegasus. Hawk’s Eye leaves the circus, followed by Fish Eye (who is determined to stop him), who is followed by Tiger’s Eye. After the Trio leaves, Zirconia turns to 4 shadows in the dark that just happen to be girls. Each of them has a colored ball. One of them makes a lemure (monsters of the day) to go after the Trio. Usagi just happens to run into Hawk’s Eye who extracts her dream mirror. Fish Eye shows up (with Tiger’s Eye behind him) and tells them that she is Sailormoon. Before Hawk’s Eye can look into Usagi’s dream mirror, a clown (the lemure) appeared and bumped him out of the way so he can look in the mirror. No Pegasus there. The clown begins to attack the Trio by throwing spades at them. One of them hits Usagi’s dream mirror and shatters it. She collapses. Fish Eye is stunned and is almost hit by one of the spades. Hawk’s Eye takes the blow for him and it leaves a hole in his chest. Hawk’s Eye counterattacks with his flame attack but it has no effect on the clown. Hawk’s Eye dies soon after and Fish Eye and Tiger’s Eye attack the clown. Their attacks have no effect whatsoever and Fish and Tiger’s Eye decide to use a ball of energy given to them by Zirconia to revive Usagi and Chibiusa (who was frozen inside a block of ice). Ht energy ball’s original purpose was to capture the Pegasus. They use it and then they collapse and revert back to their original forms. The Sailor Senshi finish off the clown and then go and wonder why the Trio helped them. Pegasus appears and he revives them and he also gives them dream mirrors so they have the ability to dream. He then takes them and releases them into his kingdom. In the manga, the Trio was in fact created by the Amazoness Quartet, but they were not a major part of the SuperS series like they are in the anime. They did however serve to make the inner senshi power up and get their new attacks. After the Trio is gone, you are then introduced to the Amazoness Quartet a team of four young sisters whose job is to locate the Golden Mirror. This is done by using their pool balls to knock the dream mirror out of a person. The balls NEVER miss, even if the victim manages to dodge it for the first time, it always comes back after ricocheting off a million things. The Quartet is usually at the Circus making some kind of trouble for Zirconia. They are extremely lazy and very disrespectful of her. They are also fond of playing with Zircon and telling it that they would eat it if it didn’t find the right target for them. Neherenia lured the Quartet into working for her by giving them the magic balls and promising them that they would never grow up. The Quartet thought that adults lost the ability to have good dreams and so they were sucked into the evil circus. Neherenia finally gets impatient with staying in her mirror and she begins to spread spider webs all over Tokyo. Another eclipse blocks the sun and the Sailor Senshi finally crash the Dead Moon Circus. Mamoru is out of commission because he is the guardian of earth; his body reflects what the earth is feeling. While inside the circus, Neherenia discovers that Chibimoon is in fact Pegasus’ host. Zirconia hits Chibimoon with Zircon and it forces out her Dream Mirror. Chibimoon forces the mirror back inside of her but the Zirconia traps her inside of a mirror and it vanishes. Inside of the mirror, Chibimoon runs into an unconscious Helios who is trapped in spider webs. Neherenia appears and ties Chibimoon up in the spider webs and electrocutes her until she faints. Meanwhile, the Quartet is feeling bored so VesVes makes a telescope and she sees Chibimoon tied up in the spider webs. So PallaPalla makes a big Chibimoon doll and CereCere opens up a hole into the dimension Chibimoon is in. JunJun switches Chibimoon and the doll. They take Pegasus out of Chibimoon’s dream and attempt to hop on his back for a ride. But he is just an illusion and they fall through him. Pegasus, after all is just Helios’ spirit. He gives them a snooty look and PallaPalla promptly puts an energy bridle on him to make him obey. Then they try to take the Golden Crystal (which is disguised as his horn) and it bursts into flames and keeps them away. Chibimoon wakes up when she hears Pegasus neighing. She runs through the flames and tears the bridle off of his head and the fire disappears. Zirconia appears and is angry at the Quartet for attempting to steal Pegasus and she seals them all in mirrors. Then she wraps Chibimoon in more spider web and zaps her again. Pegasus returns to Chibimoon’s dream mirror. And Chibimoon returns to the inside of the mirror. Neherenia uses an energy beam to force Chibimoon’s dream mirror out again and Pegasus appears. She tells him that if he does not obey her than she will kill Chibimoon. So he goes back into Helios body. Helios revives and tells Neherenia that she will never control him. She gets angry and blasts him and Chibimoon who desperately hold on to each other but in the end are blasted apart. Meanwhile, Zirconia is struggling with the Sailor Senshi. She tells Neherenia that she needs more energy and the Quartet appears. Neherenia wraps them up in spider webs and gives their energy to Zirconia. Mercury tells them that they have to destroy their pool balls and then they would be free of the Dead Moon Circus. They eventually throw them on the ground and they shatter. The Quartet tells Zirconia that they won’t follow her anymore. Inside the mirror, Neherenia extracts the Golden Crystal from the horn on Helios’s head (looks very painful) and then she puts Chibimoon under a sleep spell. She then comes out of her mirror with the golden crystal in her hand. Zirconia vanishes when Neherenia comes out of the mirror and confronts the Sailor Senshi. The Quartet decides to help the senshi and they manage to switch the golden crystal out of Neherenia’s hand in exchange for a pineapple! Somewhere in the middle of all of this, Mamoru (in terrible pain) gets to talk to Helios through his dream. Helios tells him that he is the guardian of Illusion, the kingdom at the center of the earth. Mamoru recognizes the place because he used to protect it when he was Prince Endymion. Helios finally wakes up and he rushes to kiss Sailor Chibimoon and it wakes her up. The Quartet gives Sailormoon the golden crystal but she is unable to use it by herself. Chibimoon runs over to her and begins speaking to the people of earth through the crystal. (I love this part!!) She gets everyone on earth to begin saying Moon Crisis Power and the golden crystal begins to activate. The crystal reacts and it blows away the entire Dead Moon Circus. Everyone was unconscious in the destroyed circus tent and Sailormoon wakes up to see Neherenia walking off with Chibimoon in her arms. Parts of the remaining circus begins to fly up in the sky. Sailormoon catches hold and pulls herself up. She then begins to chase Neherenia up a very long flight of stairs. At the top Sailormoon confronts a very old Neherenia. Neherenia tells her that she was once a beautiful queen (she was also very vain) but one day she asked the mirror what her future held and it showed her being old. So to prevent that from happening Neherenia eats the dream mirrors of her subjects and they all turned into the circus freaks of the Dead Moon Circus. After telling Sailormoon her story, Neherenia tosses Chibimoon over the edge and the girl plummets into the darkness. After a moment, Sailormoon jumps down after her. Neherenina says that she is foolish and then she steps back into her mirror and her beauty is restored and she is content to be alone forever as long as she has her beauty. Sailormoon tries to catch up to Chibimoon but she can’t so she transforms into Princess Serenity and she eventually catches up to her. Serenity begs Chibimoon to wake up because she can’t use the golden crystal without her. Chibimoon wakes up and says, “Sailormoon. Let’s realize our dreams together!” The golden crystal lights up and in the destroyed circus, Helios wakes up and vanishes. Pegasus appears and flies into Serenity and Chibimoon and gives them wings and they gently land on a bridge. Later that day, Elios tells everyone that he must leave because he cannot stay long on the surface earth. The Amazoness Quartet (now just regular girls) distract the inner senshi long enough for Chibiusa to give him a big hug and he turns back into Pegasus and flies off, but Chibiusa knows that she will see him again someday. However, in the manga it is a completely different ending. The outer senshi return (with Saturn) to help the inner senshi defeat the Dead Moon Circus, and they are also powered up into Super senshi. Eternal Sailormoon defeats Neherenia (In the anime, Eternal Moon does not appear until the Sailor Star series). The Amazoness Quartet is revealed to be the Asteroid Senshi, the guardians of Chibiusa. They are named after some of the largest asteroids in the solar system. Thus concludes the end of the SuperS series.
